The Islamic Committee of the International Crescent (ICIC) participation in the 47th Roundtable on Current Issues of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) 12-13 September 2024 San Remo – Italy
The topics of the sessions was organized so that one of the figures chaired them, and three experts presented the interventions, the attending and virtual participants presented then questions.
Session 1: Historical Landscape Setter.
Session 2: Geneva Convention I: The First Geneva Convention for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces in the Field: Developments, Challenges and Future Prospects for Humanitarian Law in Armed Conflict.
Session 3: Geneva Convention II: Geneva Convention II for the Amelioration of the Condition of Wounded, Sick and Shipwrecked Members of Armed Forces at Sea: Advanced Technological Developments in the Maritime Domain and the Application of Humanitarian Law at Sea.
Session 4: Geneva Convention III: Contemporary Issues Relating to the Third Geneva Convention and the Protection of Prisoners of War in International Armed Conflicts.
Session 5: Geneva Convention IV: Geneva Convention IV relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War: The Cornerstone of Civilian Protection in Armed Conflicts.

The ICIC delegation Held meetings with many legal and military figures from the following countries: Italy, Britain, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, ICIC delegations the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the President of the Institute of IHL, the Director of Training Programs at the Institute, a representative of the Libyan International University, a representative of the Geneva Institute of International Law, and delegations of the Red Crescent Societies in Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, and Iran. The discussions covered bilateral relations in the fields of international humanitarian law and topics of common interest
