Signing the Implementation Program Regarding the establishment of a center for training trainers in first aid, rescue and response between the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent (ICIC) and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA)
In implementation of the recommendation issued by the 5th consultative meeting between the ICIC and the Red Crescent and Red Cross societies in the member States the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held during the period of 22-25 July 2023 in Jeddah – the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to establish a specialized center for training trainers in first aid, rescue and response, and to enhance humanitarian and development work at the level of the OIC member States , the Implementation Program has been signed at the SRCA headquarters in Riyadh on Sunday, December 9, 2024, regarding the establishment of a center for training the trainers in first aid, rescue and emergency response , which is a cooperation and partnership program between the ICIC, represented by Dr. Mohamed Hamad Elasbali, ICIC Executive Director, and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, represented by Dr. Taymour Shukrallah, SRCA Assistant Chairman .
This Implementation programme aims to support the national Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies in the member States, by raising their human capacities and enhancing their capabilities in dealing with disasters and humanitarian crises, which contributes to improving emergency response and protecting lives. This cooperation and partnership confirm the keenness of both parties to achieve sustainability in humanitarian work, and to present a pioneering model for international cooperation in facing humanitarian challenges, and highlights the enhancement of joint regional and international cooperation in related fields, which contributes to achieving a positive impact on needy communities and raising the level of humanitarian readiness.
