Statement by the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent(ICIC) Condemning the Israeli Aggression on the Capital, Doha, State of Qatar

The ICIC, specialized institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation(OIC), expresses its strongest condemnation and denunciation of the military aggression perpetrated by Israeli forces targeting the Qatari capital, Doha, which was hosting a political meeting dedicated to discussing a ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposal in Gaza. This blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Qatar State and the sanctity of safe cities and civilian centers. This attack resulted in human losses and material damage, endangered the lives of civilians, and undermined regional security and stability.

While the ICIC affirms that this aggression represents a flagrant violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter and the provisions of international law, particularly the rules of international humanitarian law that prohibit the targeting of civilians and civilian objects, it affirms the following:

1- Condemning and denouncing the Israeli aggression on the capital, Doha, and considering it a direct threat to international peace and security and an aggression against a sovereign state that plays the role of mediator in settling regional and international disputes.

2- Emphasizing the special nature of the Qatar State as an international mediator in numerous conflicts, and that any infringement on its security and sovereignty undermines diplomatic efforts to resolve disputes peacefully and sets a dangerous precedent that undermines the neutrality of the states facilitating mediation.

3- The ICIC affirms that this aggression not only threatens Qatar’s security but also undermines peaceful mediation efforts aimed at halting the genocide being perpetrated against the Palestinian people in general, and in the Gaza Strip in particular, thereby increasing the suffering of civilians and prolonging the humanitarian tragedy.

4- Urgently calling on the international community, the United Nations, and international humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately to halt the attacks and ensure their non-recurrence, provide the necessary protection for civilians and civilian facilities, and preserve the sanctity of the Qatari capital as a center for diplomatic and humanitarian dialogue.

5- Expressing full solidarity with the Qatari people and emphasizing that this attack represents an assault on shared human values.

6- The ICIC renews its commitment to the principles of humanity, neutrality, and impartiality, and its full readiness to continue its humanitarian role under all circumstances, in line with its mission to support humanitarian causes in the Islamic world and beyond.
